As part of the learning, students of BCA 7th semester carried out their case studies on various eBusiness sites under the course e-Business. Besides the theoretical aspects of the modern eBusiness processes, students were involved in detailed study of the real business models, real time operations and principles of various popular national and international eBusiness sites. 10 different students’ groups were formed and each group conducted their study to extract the practical prospects of all the contents studied theoretically.
This kind of study provided students the opportunity to get exposed to the practical implementation of contents discussed during their regular courses. Mid-term presentation was conducted on January 9, 2019 while all the study groups delivered their final presentation with detailed report on January 27, 2019. The case study was completed under the supervision and guidance of the course faculty, Er. Kiran K.C.
The 17th session of LA GRANDEE TECH TALK was successfully conducted on December 23, 2018 with the title “Learning Through College Apprenticeship”. Mr. Pawan Krishna Shrestha, the Regional Engineering Manager for Gandaki Province from Seva Development Pvt. Ltd. presented his insightful remarks and inspirational session, orienting students on the real need for being prepared with professional skills during college studies so as to be capable to directly enter into professional practices immediately after completing their studies, which can be achieved through the apprenticeship approach.
The session was also organized to announce the launching of the apprenticeship program that college has initiated in coordination with Seva Development. Seva Development Pvt. Ltd. is a socially motivated IT company. Already 3 students from BCA 7th semester have been enrolled and on behalf of the enrolled students, Pradip Dhakal shared his experience and motivation for participating in the apprenticeship program. He also expressed his special thanks to the college and the Principal for initiating such valued concept and giving them opportunity to participate.
Principal of the college coordinated the session while Academic Dean, Dr. Krishna Raj Adhikari delivered his motivational remarks. Ishwor Sapkota(Sr. Engineer) & Ujjwal Aetriya (Engineer) from Seva Development and around 35 students from BCA 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th semesters were present in the talk session.
The session was followed by the MOU signup program between LA GRANDEE International College and Seva Development Pvt. Ltd.
There is always an ongoing argument between educational institutions and corporate sectors regarding deployment and necessity of the efficient human resources, each operating in different pedestals, whereby, the corporate sector claims to have not received the capable graduates while the other argues for not having proper positions for their competitive resources. As an initiation to address the underlying problems and challenges so as to fulfill the need of each, LA GRANDEE as a pilot project has started the Apprenticeship Program for IT students through which students are being trained to develop skills through hands-on-practice approach. Each training shall be practiced for 2-3 months and after successful completion of the training and proving their competency, students will be working as professionals in the development center within the college itself. It is an approach to practice professional training beyond internship.
A formal agreement (MOU) was signed for the Apprenticeship Program by Er. Kiran K.C., Principal and Pawan Krishna Shrestha, Regional Engineering Manager (Province 4) on behalf of LA GRANDEE International College and Seva Development Pvt. Ltd.(https://www.sevadevelopment.com/) respectively on December 23, 2018. Seva Development is a socially motivated IT company. Currently, 3 students of BCA 7th Semester, Pradip Dhakal, Prabhu Gurung and Arjun Subedi are already enrolled for the Apprenticeship program. Under successful implementation of the concept, it is expected to conduct similar approaches for other programs and include more number of students of the college.
Principal coordinated the program and shared happiness to have the collaboration with Seva Development. The concept of apprenticeship has remained a long time dream that finally has come to its shape, as expressed by the Principal. He further expressed his confidence that this approach in the near future will obviously give directions to set up development cell within college through which students will have opportunity to experience professional skills and initiate Learn and Earn environment.
On August 20, 2018, Community Information Society (CIS) Pokhara organized a program for celebration of 11th Information Day. Mr. Krishnahari Baskota, Chief Information Officer, National Information Commission, Nepal as the Chief Guest along with many other distinguished guests from various government offices and private public organizations were present in the program. Every year CIS Pokhara awards the CIS IT Award to the youths of Pokhara contributing to the society through innovative inventions or development of technology for social services. This year, students of BCA 2nd semester – Roshan Poudel, Subin Bhandari, Dinesh Thapa and Sandeep Sharma collectively received the CIS IT Award – 2075 for their innovative project IoT Boat for Rescue. The rescue boat is proposed to support rescue task especially in the lakes where visitors could inform the control station about any danger while boating and the rescue team could immediately track the location of danger and take action for rescue. Er. Kiran K.C., Principal of LA GRANDEE, who was also the Coordinator for the CIS IT Award Evaluation Committee addressed the ceremony on behalf of evaluation committee and informed the evaluation and selection criteria. Mr. Yubaraj Poudel – President of CAN Kaski and Mr. Rajendra Sharma – Secretary General of CIS Pokhara were other two members in the evaluation committee.
Admissions for the new session of 2018 has been opened from August 8, 2018 (Shravan 23, 2075) at LA GRANDEE International College. We offer admissions for the programs – BCA, BBA and BPH.
Very limited seats are available in BCA and BBA programs.
ELIGIBILITY
BCA :
10+2 or Intermediate level in any discipline with minimum of 45% marks or C Grade. It is also mandatory to have attended 100 marks of Mathematics or Computer Science in 10+2 or Intermediate level.
BBA :
10+2 or Intermediate level in any discipline with minimum of 45% marks or C Grade.
BPH :
10+2 or Intermediate level in Science (Biology) or Diploma in Health Sciences (HA, Staff Nurse, Diploma in Dental Science, Radiography) or equivalent with minimum of 50% marks or C+ Grade.

With an objective to serve the community, LA GRANDEE has been regularly conducting community based activities since a long time. As part of CSR activities, college has initiated a different concept to empower students and motivate them to explore and further enhance their skills. Rather than the experts, Students themselves are actively involved to deliver their skills to the community students or the general public periodically either in the sector of technology, management or health. Recently, on June 15, 2018, students Pradip Poudel, Pradip Dhakal, Prabhu Gurung and Raju Lamsal (team named as Eversoft Group) of BCA 6th semester studying in LA GRANDEE conducted a training on effective Web Page Designing for the class 10 students of Bhadrakali Secondary School, Banjhapatan, Pokhara. All the training arrangement was made by college in coordination with Bhadrakali Secondary Shoold. It was organized as part of LA GRANDEE for Community. 50 plus students participated in the training. BCA Program Coordinator-LA GRANDEE, Er. Dipak K.C., opened up the session by highlighting the program objective and the concept while Principal of Bhadrakali, Ghanshyam Rijal and computer faculty Indra Pd Bhattarai expressed sincere thanks for organizing the training in the school. All the trainee were also happy to learn web design concepts beyond their regular curriculum.
The 11th session of LA GRANDEE Tech Talk entitled “Electoral Technologies of Nepal” was conducted at LA GRANDEE on June 8, 2018. Students from BCA 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th semester actively participated in the talk program. Regional Electoral Officer and Former Regional IT Consultant from UNDP – Electoral Project Support, Western Region, Nepal, Er. Sudip Aryal, led the session as the guest speaker. The talk program was focused on the technologies that Election Commission Nepal has incorporated for the voters data collection, its verification, validation and the techno-facilitated voting procedure along current undertakings by the election commission for future electronic voting systems. The session ended with with interactive discussion among the students and the resource person. Principal, Er. Kiran K.C. further concluded the session insisting students to be updated on the techno-trends and brainstorm to generate ideas on newer prospects that they see as opportunities through such discussions in every sector viable for technology implementation.
Students of BCA 7th Semester(Batch 2014) completed their case study on eBusiness. All together, 13 groups each with maximum of 3 members were assigned different eBusiness sites as their case study topics as per their previous proposal. The study topic included national as well as international world’s best eBusiness sites. Besides the fulfillment of requirements as per the curriculum for the course E-Business, students self-learnt the eBusiness models, business management, promotion as well as payment strategies. Such case based learning methodology further enhanced student’s knowledge and understanding of the real time events and the practical implementations of eBusiness prospects. The study was carried out under supervision and mentorship of the Principal cum the course teacher Er. Kiran K.C. and the final presentation was conducted on March 23, 2018 in presence of BCA program coordinator, Er. Dipak K.C.
LA GRANDEE International College has been signed as one of the MICNIC(Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal Innovation Cell) colleges of MIC Nepal. It is in association since 2013. Since then both have collaborated for many training proposed for students and faculties as well. Each year, MIC Nepal awards special recognition to one of the colleges amongst all in collaboration. This year, LA GRANDEE has been awarded the MICNIC College of the Year on the occasion of its Education Summit – 2018 held on February 3 & 4, 2018 at Dhulikhel Resort, Dhulikhel. BCA program Coordinator, Er. Dipak K.C. participated in the summit as college representative and took the award presented by Microsoft Regional Director, Mr. Allen Bailochan Tuladhar.
